Understand the concept and significance of contemporary pedagogies in mathematics education. 2. Identify learner-centred approaches that make mathematics teaching meaningful, engaging and effective. 3. Apply activity-based, experiential, inquiry-based and problem-based learning in mathematics classrooms. 4. Use real-life contexts and mathematical situations to develop conceptual understanding. 5. Integrate appropriate digital tools and technology into mathematics teaching-learning. 6. Promote mathematical reasoning, logical thinking, creativity, communication and problem-solving skills. 7. Use collaborative learning strategies to encourage peer interaction and mathematical discussion. 8. Address diverse learning needs through differentiated and inclusive mathematics instruction. 9. Apply formative and competency-based assessment strategies to monitor mathematical learning. 10. Design innovative mathematics lessons that encourage curiosity, exploration and higher-order thinking. Learning Outcomes After completing the PDP, participants will be able to: • Explain major contemporary pedagogies relevant to mathematics teaching. • Design learner-centred mathematics lessons based on specific learning outcomes. • Use inquiry and problem-based approaches to develop mathematical reasoning. • Integrate activities, manipulatives and real-life contexts into mathematics lessons. • Use technology and digital resources appropriately to support mathematical concepts. • Facilitate collaborative mathematical discussions and peer learning. • Develop tasks that promote critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving. • Apply differentiated strategies to support learners with diverse abilities and learning needs. • Use formative assessment and constructive feedback to improve mathematics learning. • Evaluate and improve mathematics teaching practices through reflection and professional collaboration.
