Sustainable Development of Students Objectives By the end of the Professional Development Programme, participants will be able to: 1. Understand the concept and importance of sustainable development in education. 2. Develop awareness among students about environmental, social and economic sustainability. 3. Integrate sustainability concepts into classroom teaching and co-curricular activities. 4. Promote responsible use of natural resources and environmentally friendly practices. 5. Encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills related to sustainability. 6. Foster values such as responsibility, empathy, cooperation, respect for nature and social justice. 7. Encourage sustainable lifestyles, conservation practices and responsible consumption among students. 8. Connect classroom learning with local environmental and community issues. 9. Promote student participation in sustainability-related projects and community activities. 10. Develop students as responsible citizens who can contribute to a sustainable future. Learning Outcomes After completing the PDP, participants will be able to: • Explain the meaning and significance of sustainable development in education. • Identify key environmental, social and economic dimensions of sustainability. • Integrate sustainable development themes into different subjects and learning activities. • Design projects and activities that promote environmental awareness and responsible behaviour. • Encourage students to conserve water, energy and other natural resources. • Develop students’ problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities through sustainability-related issues. • Promote responsible consumption and sustainable lifestyle practices. • Facilitate collaborative activities addressing local and community sustainability challenges. • Encourage students to take informed and responsible decisions. • Assess students’ knowledge, attitudes and participation in sustainability-related activities.
