About this program

Two Days On-Line Programme on “Core Values and Ethics” for Teachers Developing Core Values among students: The twenty-first century competencies and skills are basic requirements for all of us including teachers in the present rapidly changing world. Equally, high-quality content explicitly fostering these values should be included. Inspiring lessons from the works of literature and the people of India must be incorporated throughout the curriculum as relevant. India has a long history and tradition of people and stories that beautifully teach or exemplify so many of the above-mentioned core values and socioemotional capacities. Discussions on the Indian Constitution, the values of Equality, Liberty, and Fraternity that it espouses, and the Fundamental Duties that it enjoins on Indian citizens must be a part of classroom processes. Stories from the lives of great Indian heroes of history are also an excellent way to inspire and introduce core values to students. (National Curriculum Framework – SE 2023, p. 161). Programme Description: One of the central aims of the Indian vision of education is character building. The NCF emphasises this through the development of values throughout the school years from early childhood onwards. Values and dispositions are developed through school and classroom culture and practices and through the learning of different subjects in the curriculum (NCF-SE 2023, p. 147). After successful completion of the programme participants will be given “Certificate of Participation”.
